October 26 this year in the large assembly hall of the International University named after K.Sh. Toktomamatov (MNU, Jalal-Abad), the faculty and students met with the Kyrgyz weightlifter, winner of the 1980 Olympic Games in Moscow, four-time world champion and two-time European champion Kanybek Osmonaliev. It was very interesting for the students of MNU to meet the living legend of Kyrgyz sports. The meeting was chaired by a well-known sports journalist, Honored Cultural Worker, Secretary General of the Federation of Sports Journalists of the Kyrgyz Republic Kabyl Makeshov. The legend of Kyrgyz sports Kanybek Osmonaliev spoke about his sports activities and answered a number of questions. At the end of his speech, he called on students to a healthy lifestyle, to go in for sports, to patriotism and serving the motherland. The administration of the MNU expressed gratitude to Kanybek Osonaliev for the meeting with the staff and students of the university, and was also grateful to the head of the Jalal-Abad regional sports department, Abdyjapar Kaparov, for the initiative to organize this meeting. In turn, Kanybek Osmonaliev, Kabyl Makeshov and Abdyjapar Kaparov also expressed their gratitude to the administration of the Moscow National University for the warm welcome. At the end of the meeting, Kanybek Osmonaliev got acquainted with the sports complex of the university, made several proposals for its development.
